Claire Economidou is Associate Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Piraeus.
She holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2004), Masters in Economics (MA) from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki (2000), and a bachelor (BSc) in Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1997).
Her research interests focus on the fields of Economic Growth & Development and International Trade. More specifically, the current investigation examines the role of productivity, technology, efficiency and trade on countries’ growth (industries).
Her research has been published in top quality journals such as European Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics,Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, among others, and financed by European Research Council (ERC) grants and by National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) grants.
